The new school year is in full swing! Families can take trips to their local libraries to encourage reading outside of school. Many libraries also offer reading practice with therapy dogs, which is a favorite in our home!
During reading, families can also practice speech sounds and work on story comprehension. Below is a list of books to start off the school year and engage your kids. Happy reading!
“The Gruffalo,” by Julia Donaldson
“Dragons Love Tacos,” by Adam Rubin
“Where the Wild Things Are,” by Maurice Sendak
“The Paper Bag Princess,” by Robert Munsch
