Is My Toddler a Late Talker?

Are you a caregiver wondering if your toddler’s speech and language development are on track? Many children will begin speaking their first words around one year of age. By age two, most toddlers will be putting together short phrases with intention, such as, “more juice.” As a speech therapist, I consider having fewer than 50 spoken words by age 2 to be a sign that a child may benefit from an evaluation. If you have questions or concerns about your toddler’s speech and language development, reach out to a speech therapist.
