Middle Grade Novels for Summer Reading

Are you a caregiver trying to engage your kids in summer reading? There are many fun middle grade novels available at your local library to suit a variety of interests. Without engaging in summer reading, many school-aged children are at risk for the “summer slide. The summer slide can result in a decline in a child’s reading level by the fall.

Below are suggestions of middle grade novels. Happy reading!

  • “Harry Potter,” by J.K. Rowling

  • “Emily Windsnap,” by Liz Kessler

  • “Tuesdays at the Castle,” by Jessica Day George

  • “The Secret Library,” by Kekla Magoon
