Summer days are the perfect time to curl up with a book outside. There are many ways to target speech and language goals while enjoying the summer season. I love selecting books from the local library for younger students. During reading, children can practice speech sounds, name actions in pictures, answer comprehension questions, and sequence story events.
Below are suggestions of summer books.
Happy reading!
“Summer is Here,” by Renee Watson
“And Then Comes Summer,” by Tom Brenner
“The Watermelon Seed,” by Greg Pizzoli
“Ladybug Girl at the Beach,” by David Soman and Jacky Davis
